Last year, Ed Kabotie and Tha Yoties came to Mesa Verde Lavender for the first time to record music here at the farm.
Out of their time here came a very special recording of ‘Feels Like Home,’ a song that quickly became meaningful to all of us.
That song became something special to all of us. It captured a feeling of place, belonging and connection that can be hard to put into words, and somewhere in the process of making music here, Ed became a true friend of the farm.
So this fall, we’re bringing it full circle.
On Sunday, October 4, we’ll gather at our canyon-edge lookout for Feels Like Home: An Evening with Ed Kabotie, an intimate evening of music, storytelling and connection.
Ed’s work is thoughtful, funny, honest and deeply rooted in place. Through music, stories, art and humor, he speaks to history, identity, injustice, community and the landscapes that shape us.
This evening is especially meaningful to us because it grew directly out of the time Ed and Tha Yoties spent creating here at Mesa Verde Lavender.
As our season winds down and the farm begins turning toward winter, we’d love to gather with a small group of people to share this place, this music and this story together.
Gates open at 4:30 PM, with the show beginning at 5:00 PM.
The performance will take place outdoors at our canyon-edge lookout. Please bring your own camp chair.
Complimentary non-alcoholic lavender tea blends and water will be served during the evening.
You’re welcome to bring your own picnic snacks and drinks to enjoy at the farm.
Tickets are $30 per person, and attendance is limited to just 30 guests.
Advance tickets are required. Once all 30 spots are filled, the event will be sold out.
