There’s something special about summer in the lavender fields.
The scent in the air. The hum of bees. The mountains in the distance. The quiet rhythm of working with your hands in the soil alongside good people.
This season, we’re opening a limited number of volunteer days at Mesa Verde Lavender for those who want to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience life on a working lavender farm during our most beautiful time of year.
We intentionally keep our volunteer groups small so the experience stays peaceful, personal, and connected to the rhythms of the land.
Whether you’re looking for a peaceful day outdoors, wanting to learn more about lavender farming, or simply craving a meaningful experience away from screens and noise — we’d love to welcome you to the farm.
Many of our volunteers say their time here feels grounding, restorative, and deeply calming — and many hope to return season after season for the beauty, connection, and quiet magic of harvest time.
Every day on the farm is a little different depending on the season and what the fields need most. Volunteer projects may include:
Harvesting fragrant lavender bundles
Helping care for our organically grown plants
Weeding and maintaining the fields
Bundling, drying, and processing lavender
Assisting with seasonal farm tasks and harvest-day preparation
No experience needed — just a willingness to help, learn, and enjoy the process.
In exchange for your 3-hour volunteer session, you’ll receive:
Lavender tea and cold refreshments during your time on the farm
A beautiful day surrounded by mountain views, blooming fields, and fresh air
Hands-on experience learning about lavender farming and harvest
Connection with our small farm team and the rhythms of seasonal farm life
Because lavender plants are highly sensitive to Tobacco Mosaic Virus, we unfortunately cannot host volunteers who smoke cigarettes or use tobacco products. Protecting the health of our fields is one of our highest priorities, and we deeply appreciate your understanding.
Please also come prepared with:
Closed-toe shoes
Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, water bottle)
Clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty or fragrant with lavender
Mesa Verde Lavender
Nestled just outside of Mancos, Colorado, our farm is surrounded by open skies, family farms, mountain views, and the peaceful beauty of Southwest Colorado.
Volunteer spots are limited throughout the season and often fill quickly during peak bloom and harvest weeks.
Choose a volunteer date below, complete the required liability waiver before arrival, and come spend a day immersed in the beauty and magic of lavender season.
We can’t wait to share the farm with you.
If the timing listed doesn’t work perfectly with your schedule, please reach out to mesaverdelavender@gmail.com to chat with us about timing that will work!
